F&N Diary Investment Pte Ltd - quỹ ngoại đến từ Singapore vừa thông báo mua bất thành 20,9 triệu cổ phiếu VNM của CTCP Sửa Việt Nam - Vinamilk (HM:VNM) (sàn HOSE) trong thời gian đăng ký giao dịch từ 6/12/2022 - 4/1/2023 do điều kiện thị trường không phù hợp. Theo đó, số lượng cổ phiếu VNM đang được cổ đông ngoại này nắm giữ vẫn duy trì ở mức 369,75 triệu cổ phiếu (tỷ lệ 17,69% vốn).

Đáng nói, đây không phải lần đầu F&N Diary Investment mua bất thành số lượng cổ phiếu này.

Trước đó hồi cuối tháng 11/2022, quỹ này cũng "chưa mua" số lượng cổ phiếu tương tự.

Cũng giống một cổ đông lớn khác là Platinum Victory Pte Ltd cũng liên tục mua bất thành 20,9 triệu cổ phiếu VNM nhằm tăng sở hữu lên mức 243 triệu đơn vị - tỷ lệ 11,62% vốn.

Thực tế trong nhiều năm nay, cả 2 cổ đông ngoại đến từ quỹ Singapore này đã liên tục đăng ký mua vào lượng lớn cổ phiếu VNM và sau đó thông báo mua bất thành do giá chưa phù hợp.

Chỉ tính riêng trong năm 2022, số lượng đăng ký của cả 2 quỹ ngoại đã lên tới 12 - 14 lần song đều chưa thành công; tỷ lệ sở hữu vẫn giữ ở mức 17,69% với F&N Dairy Investments và 10,62% với Platinum Victory Pte. Ltd.

Động thái này của quỹ ngoại theo các chuyên gia là hành động đăng ký mua để chờ. Tức khi có biến động thị trường xấu, cổ phiếu giảm mạnh họ có thể mua chủ động mà không có vi phạm các quy định của luật chứng khoán. Do đều là các cổ đông lớn của các doanh nghiệp trên nên việc mua gia tăng sở hữu, không phải mua bằng mọi giá nữa.

Trên thị trường, cổ phiếu VNM từng lao dốc mạnh trong nửa đầu năm 2022 trước khi hồi trong phần còn lại của năm. Tính chung trong năm Dương lịch 2022, mã chỉ giảm nhẹ 5,7% về 76.100 đồng và là mã VN30 thiệt hại ít nhất trong số 25 mã giảm giá.

Kết phiên giao dịch ngày 4/1/2023, cổ phiếu VNM tăng 1% lên mức 79.300 đồng.

Về diễn biến giao dịch khối ngoại, sau giai đoạn tích cực mua ròng từ đầu tháng 10 đến cuối tháng 11/2022, khối ngoại bắt đầu các động thái xả bán nhẹ tại cổ phiếu VNM trong nửa đầu tháng 12/2022 với tổng khối lượng bán ra hơn 6,2 triệu cổ phiếu.

Nửa tháng trở lại đây, nhóm này đang mua ròng trở lại song lực mua giảm còn vài trăm nghìn đơn vị/phiên (tổng khối lượng mua khoảng 1,5 triệu đơn vị).
