Vào lúc 9:52 ET (13:52 GMT), Dow Jones đã giảm 226 điểm hay 0,7%, trong khi S&P 500 giảm 0,8% và NASDAQ đã giảm 1,2%.

Thu nhập doanh nghiệp có sự xáo trộn trong tháng này và các nhà đầu tư đang hy vọng một vài điểm dữ liệu mới về lạm phát và niềm tin của người tiêu dùng, để thuyết phục Fed giảm bớt tốc độ tăng lãi suất sau cuộc họp tuần này. Ngân hàng trung ương được cho là sẽ tăng lãi suất trong tuần này thêm 0,75% lần thứ tư liên tiếp.
