Chứng khoán Mỹ dự kiến mở cửa thấp hơn vào thứ Ba, một ngày sau khi Nasdaq ghi nhận mức đóng cửa thấp nhất kể từ tháng 7 năm 2020, bị áp lực bởi những lo lắng dai dẳng về tác động của việc tăng lãi suất.

Vào lúc 07:05 ET (11:05 GMT), hợp đồng tương lai Dow Jones giảm 193 điểm tương đương 0,6%, hợp đồng tương lai S&P 500 giảm 26 điểm tương đương 0,7% và hợp đồng tương lai Nasdaq 100 giảm 73 điểm, tương đương 0,7%.

Các chỉ số chứng khoán đóng cửa giảm mạnh vào thứ Hai, với Nasdaq giảm 1,04%. Dow Jones giảm 0,3%, trong khi S&P 500 giảm khoảng 0,8%.

Các nhà đầu tư vẫn giữ sự thận trọng trước dữ liệu lạm phát vào cuối tuần này, cũng như bắt đầu mùa thu nhập quý thứ ba vào thứ Sáu, khi các nhà cho vay lớn nhất của Hoa Kỳ sẽ đến hạn ra báo cáo.

Các nhà phân tích kỳ vọng kết quả của ngân hàng sẽ cho thấy thu nhập ròng giảm, sau khi biến động thị trường ảnh hưởng đến đầu tư ngân hàng và các nhà cho vay dành nhiều quỹ hơn để bù đắp thiệt hại từ những người đi vay chậm thanh toán.

Các ngân hàng thường thu nhiều lợi nhuận hơn khi lãi suất tăng vì họ có thể tính phí khách hàng vay nhiều hơn, nhưng chi phí đi vay cao hơn cũng ảnh hưởng đến nhu cầu thế chấp và các khoản vay khác.

Mỹ sẽ công bố báo cáo chỉ số giá tiêu dùng cho tháng 9 vào thứ Năm, sau đó là công bố số liệu bán lẻ tháng 9 vào thứ Sáu.

Các bình luận gần đây của các quan chức Cục Dự trữ Liên bang đã chỉ ra rằng, sự hỗn loạn trên thị trường tài chính sẽ không thể thuyết phục họ hành động để giảm việc tăng lãi suất.

Các nhà đầu tư lo ngại rằng nỗ lực của Fed nhằm giải quyết lạm phát bằng các đợt tăng lãi suất quy mô lớn có thể khiến nền kinh tế rơi vào suy thoái.

Giám đốc điều hành JPMorgan Chase, ông Jamie Dimon cho biết Hoa Kỳ và nền kinh tế toàn cầu rất có thể rơi vào suy thoái vào giữa năm tới.

"Đây là điều rất, rất nghiêm trọng mà tôi nghĩ có khả năng sẽ thúc đẩy Hoa Kỳ và thế giới vào một cuộc suy thoái nào đó từ sáu đến chín tháng kể từ bây giờ", Dimon nói trong một cuộc phỏng vấn với CNBC.

Trên thị trường hàng hóa, giá dầu giảm khoảng 2%, làm tăng thêm mức lỗ trong phiên trước, do lo ngại về triển vọng nhu cầu đang đè nặng.

Dầu thô Hoa Kỳ giao sau giảm hơn 2,3% ở 88,95 USD/thùng, trong khi dầu Brent giao sau giảm 2,08% xuống 94,20 USD. Hợp đồng tương lai vàng không thay đổi ở mức 1.674,35 USD/oz, trong khi EUR/USD tăng hơn 0,2% ở mức 0,9721.
