AiVIF.com – Chỉ số Dow tăng vọt trong ngày thứ Tư, phiên tăng thứ hai liên tiếp, được hỗ trợ bởi các báo cáo thu nhập hàng quý cao và cổ phiếu công nghệ phục hồi khi dữ liệu cho thấy người tiêu dùng vẫn lạc quan về nền kinh tế.

Dow Jones Industrial Average tăng 1,6%, tương đương 526 điểm, NASDAQ Composite tăng 1,5%, S&P 500 tăng 1,5%.

Các cổ phiếu công nghệ giảm giá đã được tìm mua khi đà tăng của lợi suất trái phiếu kho bạc hạ nhiệt sau dữ liệu cho thấy niềm tin của người tiêu dùng tăng hơn dự kiến.

Thước đo niềm tin người tiêu dùng của Conference Board đã tăng từ 101,4 lên 108,3, cao hơn dự báo của các nhà kinh tế về mức 101,0.

Dữ liệu cho thấy tâm lý mạnh mẽ của người tiêu dùng, một chỉ số chính về chi tiêu của người tiêu dùng, yếu tố thúc đẩy phần lớn tăng trưởng kinh tế, làm giảm bớt lo ngại về suy thoái kinh tế.

Jefferies cho biết trong một ghi chú: “Kỳ vọng của người tiêu dùng về bất kỳ sự suy giảm tiềm ẩn nào trong thị trường lao động, kỳ vọng khiêm tốn hơn về mức tăng lương và mối lo ngại về suy thoái kinh tế dường như đã giảm bớt”.

Các cổ phiếu ngân hàng đã thúc đẩy ngành tài chính tăng cao hơn, với Lincoln National Corporation (NYSE:LNC), Zions Bancorporation (NASDAQ:ZION) và Comerica Inc (NYSE:CMA) dẫn đầu xu hướng tăng.

Mặt trận thu nhập cũng chỉ ra một người tiêu dùng mạnh mẽ hơn khi Nike (NYSE: NYSE:NKE) báo cáo kết quả hàng quý vượt trội và đưa ra định hướng lạc quan cho thấy công ty khổng lồ về đồ thể thao đã cắt giảm mức tồn kho cồng kềnh của mình. Cổ phiếu của nó đã tăng 12%.

Deutsche Bank cho biết: “Nike đã đạt được tiến bộ trong việc giải quyết hàng tồn kho dư thừa ở khu vực [Bắc Mỹ] và kết thúc quý 2 với lượng hàng tồn kho tăng 54% so với cùng kỳ năm ngoái so với 65% vào cuối quý 1”.

Tập đoàn FedEx (NYSE:FDX) cũng báo cáo kết quả hàng quý tốt hơn mong đợi và công bố kế hoạch cắt giảm thêm 1 tỷ đô la chi phí, ước tính tổng số tiền tiết kiệm được cho năm tài chính 2023 là 3,7 tỷ đô la so với ước tính trước đó là 2,7 tỷ đô la. Cổ phiếu của nó kết thúc ngày tăng 2%.

Tuy nhiên, Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE:RAD) đã đi ngược xu hướng, giảm hơn 17% do nhà điều hành dược phẩm cắt giảm định hướng cả năm bù đắp cho khoản lỗ hàng quý hẹp hơn.

Cổ phiếu liên quan nhà ở giữ vững mức tăng mặc dù có dấu hiệu suy yếu mới trong lĩnh vực nhà ở.

Doanh số bán nhà hiện có của Hoa Kỳ giảm 7,7% trong tháng 11 xuống còn 4,09 triệu, mức thấp nhất kể từ tháng 5 năm 2020.

PulteGroup Inc (NYSE:PHM), Toll Brothers Inc (NYSE:TOL) và DR Horton Inc (NYSE:DHI) đóng cửa cao hơn 2%.
