Trong tháng 10/2022, PV GAS (HM:GAS) bất ngờ vượt qua bộ đôi VIC (HM:VIC) và VHM, lọt top 2 vốn hoá thị trường với hơn 21.400 tỷ đồng. Kết thúc phiên giao dịch cuối tháng 10/2022, VN-Index đạt 1.027,94 điểm, giảm 9,2% so với tháng 9 và giảm 31,39% so với cuối năm 2021,  nhóm VN30-Index cũng mất 10,87% so với tháng 9 xuống mức 1.026,84 điểm, tương ứng giảm 33,14% so với cuối năm 2021.

Xét tới quy mô thị trường trên HOSE, tính đến hết ngày 31/10/2022, có 564 mã chứng khoán niêm yết trong đó. Tổng khối lượng cổ phiếu đang niêm yết đạt trên 139 tỷ cổ phiếu. Giá trị vốn hóa niêm yết đạt hơn 4,10 triệu tỷ đồng, giảm 8,92% so với tháng trước và tương đương 48,84% GDP năm 2021 (GDP theo giá hiện hành).

Áp lực xả hàng tập trung vào các cổ phiếu đầu ngành trong giai đoạn thị trường điều chỉnh mạnh nhiều thời điểm VN-Index thủng mốc 1.000. Vốn hoá thị trường bốc hơi 380.000 tỷ đồng trong tháng 10. Bảng xếp hạng vốn hoá lớn nhất trên sàn chứng khoán vì thế cũng xáo trộn mạnh về số lượng lẫn thứ hạng của doanh nghiệp.

Tại thời điểm kết tháng 10/2022, toàn sàn HOSE có 34 doanh nghiệp có vốn hóa trên 1 tỷ USD,  tức đã giảm 5 doanh nghiệp so với tháng 9. Danh sách bao gồm 14 ngân hàng và 6 bất động sản, còn lại là năng lượng, công nghiệp, hàng tiêu dùng, bán lẻ, hàng không và hoá chất. Doanh nghiệp duy duy nhất vốn hóa trên 10 tỷ USD là Ngân hàng Thương mại cổ phần Ngoại thương Việt Nam - Vietcombank (HM:VCB).

Đáng chú ý, PV GAS đã vượt qua bộ đôi VIC và VHM của Vingroup  để lọt top 2 vốn hoá thị trường với hơn 21.400 tỷ đồng. Trong khi, Vinhomes (HM:VHM) giảm mạnh ừ 220.000 tỷ đồng còn 160.000 tỷ đồng, theo đó đã rơi xuống vị trí thứ 6 trong bảng xếp hạng

Ở chiều ngược lại những cái tên như  Vietnam Airlines (HN:HVN) Chứng khoán (SSI (HM:SSI)), PV Power (POW (HM:POW)), Ngân hàng MSB và EVNGENCO 3 (PGV (HM:PGV)) đã phải rời  xa nhóm vốn hóa tỷ đô khi cổ phiếu liên tục đổ đèo. Trong đó, MSB và HVN là 2 mã giảm mạnh nhất, bốc hơi lần lượt 25% và 19%.
