Đà tăng trong lĩnh vực công nghệ đã giúp Nasdaq Composite ghi nhận sắc xanh vào ngày thứ Hai (9/1) khi nhà đầu tư cược rằng lạm phát có thể đang hạ nhiệt.

Kết phiên, Dow Jones giảm 112,96 điểm (tương đương 0,3%) còn 33.517,65 điểm khi các cổ phiếu dược như Merck (NYSE:MRK) và Johnson & Johnson gây áp lực; S&P 500 giảm 2,99 điểm xuống 3.892,09 điểm. Nasdaq tăng 66,36 điểm (tương đương 0,6%) lên 10.635,65 điểm.

Tỷ giá USD tiếp tục giảm

Đầu phiên giao dịch ngày 10/1 (theo giờ Việt Nam), trên thị trường Mỹ, chỉ số US Dollar Index (DXY) đo lường biến động đồng bạc xanh với 6 đồng tiền chủ chốt (EUR, JPY, GBP, CAD, SEK, CHF) giảm 0,68% xuống mốc 103,21.

Đồng USD đã chạm mức thấp nhất trong 7 tháng so với các loại tiền tệ chính khác sau khi các dữ liệu công bố tuần trước cho thấy Cục Dự trữ Liên bang Mỹ (Fed) có thể giảm tốc độ tăng lãi suất.

Giá vàng thế giới áp sát đỉnh 8 tháng khi đồng USD giảm

Giá vàng giảm nhẹ sau khi chạm đỉnh 8 tháng vào ngày thứ Hai, khi sự hỗ trợ từ đà suy yếu của đồng USD bị bù đắp bởi việc các quan chức Fed nhắc lại lập trường quyết liệt của họ đối với lạm phát.

Kết phiên giao dịch, hợp đồng vàng giao ngay tăng 0,3% lên 1.870,45 USD/oz sau khi chạm mức cao nhất kể từ ngày 9/5/2022 vào đầu phiên là 1.881,5 USD/oz; hợp đồng vàng tương lai cộng 0.4% lên 1,877.8 USD/oz.

Giá dầu tăng hơn 1% khi Trung Quốc mở cửa

Giá dầu tăng sau khi Trung Quốc chuyển sang mở cửa trở lại biên giới đã thúc đẩy triển vọng về nhu cầu nhiên liệu và làm lu mờ những lo ngại về suy thoái kinh tế toàn cầu.

Đà tăng này một phần là nhờ tâm lý ưa thích rủi ro được hỗ trợ bởi cả việc mở cửa biên giới trở lại của quốc gia nhập khẩu dầu thô lớn nhất thế giới Trung Quốc và những hy vọng lãi suất của Mỹ sẽ được nâng một cách ít quyết liệt hơn, với thị trường chứng khoán tăng và đồng USD suy yếu.

Kết phiên, hợp đồng dầu Brent tăng 1,37% lên 79,65 USD/thùng; hợp đồng dầu WTI tăng 1,17% lên 74.63 USD/thùng.
